Autumn Harvest Moon: Soulful Saturdays & Sacred Sundays

As the autumn Harvest Moon rises, I find myself reflecting on what this season has brought into my life and what I am ready to set down. The transition into fall invites us to notice both: the abundance we can appreciate and the weight we no longer need to carry.

This weekend, I am making room for two simple rituals: a Soulful Saturday to slow down and a Sacred Sunday to reconnect with intention. You can make them your own, whether you have a quiet morning or only a few minutes.

Soulful Saturday: Give Yourself Permission to Slow Down

On Saturday mornings, I welcome the freedom to return to my rituals without the time limits I feel during the week. I rise slowly, stretch, and notice how my body feels before getting out of bed. Even making the bed becomes a mindful act; seeing my bedroom sanctuary restored to a calm space helps me begin the day with ease.

I linger over my journal, reflecting on the week rather than rushing through the page. Sometimes I choose one small area of my home to clean or organize for 10 to 15 minutes. Clearing a little space can leave the room—and my thoughts—feeling lighter. I pay attention to what brings me a sense of calm and energy, then look for ways to make more room for it in my home and life.

Gemstones and crystals are part of this practice for me. Lately, I have felt especially drawn to a smooth, polished Smoky Quartz stone. Its many facets remind me that we, too, are unique creations, with an inner light that can shine in different ways.

If it feels supportive, hold a smooth stone in your palm. Notice its weight and texture as you take a few unhurried breaths. Ask yourself: What am I carrying today? What would help me feel more at ease? Write down an answer, or simply sit with the question.

Our SERENITY Amethyst Calming Stone and PATIENCE White Howlite Calming Stone can be tactile reminders to pause. Explore the Calming Stones Collection to find one that resonates with you. The ritual matters more than the time it takes.

Sacred Sunday: Return to Your Intention

Only recently did I realize I had created a Sunday ritual of my own. It has no fixed agenda. Some Sundays include time with loved ones, a new place to explore, a little planning for the week, or simply rest. The common thread is presence: allowing the day to unfold and appreciating the people, places, and quiet moments it brings.

I especially treasure the stillness of Sunday morning, when I can meditate before the world grows busy. Silence can sometimes feel almost deafening, yet it is often when I feel most connected to my heart, soul, spirit, and God. I listen for what my spirit is telling me and find comfort in being fully myself.

Sunday also offers a chance to enter the coming week with intention. Choose a word or short phrase that speaks to what you need now—perhaps I am here, I choose peace, or I trust my path. Repeating a mantra, a practice known as japa, gives a wandering mind a gentle place to return.

Hold a mala or mala bracelet lightly. Repeat your mantra silently or aloud as you move from one bead to the next. You can follow a full 108-bead strand or begin with just a few beads. When you finish, take a breath and consider one small way to carry your intention into Monday.

The CALMING Amazonite 108 Bead Hand-Knotted Mala Necklace and CALMING Amazonite 108 Bead Hand-Knotted Wrap Mala offer a rhythm for a longer practice. For a reminder you can wear throughout the day, our CALMING Amazonite Tassel Bracelet and LOVE Rose Quartz Tassel Bracelet—pictured on their mantra cards among autumn leaves in our email—can help bring you back to your chosen words.

A Harvest Moon Reflection

Before the weekend ends, consider writing three brief lines:

  • Something I am grateful to have gathered this season is…
  • Something I am ready to release is…
  • An intention I want to carry forward is…

There is no perfect way to practice. Let Saturday offer space to soften, and let Sunday remind you of what matters. May this Harvest Moon illuminate the gifts already in your life and the path you are choosing next.

With gratitude,
JPC
