M+M = FAIR. SUSTAINABLE. FASHION.

In honor of Earth Day, all of us at Mala and Mantra would like to express how grateful we are to be part of a conscious enterprise that creates fair, sustainable fashion. We started this business in an effort to create a meaningful brand whose products would resonate with conscious consumers and, through our products, help to spread the powerful message of mindfulness.

In our product development process, we selected sustainable raw materials like semi-precious gemstones; natural local woods and coconut shell from the Philippines; and glass beads to produce our line of sustainable fashion.

We also set out from the onset to create fair fashion. For us that meant ensuring conscious production, which we do by partnering with Fair Trade artisans, who we help support financially and to whom we provide useful skills and a sustainable livelihood.

It has always been part of my core business values to showcase and support Fair Trade  artisans and products to raise awareness for the necessity to help those in need market their crafts and skills. When we discovered the women's Fair Trade cooperative in the Philippines, where my family is from, a long-held vision came true.

So what is FAIR, SUSTAINABLE FASHION?

To us, it's fashion that's produced using the highest integrity of sustainable raw materials and consciously producing products with fair labor, which includes paying fair wages and providing a safe, supportive working environment. It also means creating stylish, mindful jewelry for a fashion-conscious consumer.
