Our Company Intentions for 2021

With the challenges of 2020 now behind us we look forward to this new year, 2021, with open arms.  We reflect on what we intend to manifest in this bright new year and are motivated by the opportunity to achieve what our hearts deeply desire.

With the start of a new year, we are excited to share our 2021 Intentions Journal to help you set your own intentions. We believe in the power of intention and how it can create a path toward greater mindfulness and well-being.

And because intentions gain even more strength when you release them out into the universe, we wanted to share our company intentions for 2021 with you—our customers, so you can see what we have chosen to manifest in the new year.

SERVICE

We fully believe that at the heart of any meditation practice - and any socially conscious business - is a deep compassion for others and a desire to help them any way you can.  Serving others is something I learned from my parents who were both medical professionals who spent their lives serving their patients by caring for them and their health.  I intend to serve humanity and the greater good by providing tools for personal enlightenment and wellness.

At M+M we aim to approach life and our business with kindness, compassion, and a sense of selflessness to make our community - and the world a much better place.

GRATITUDE
We are so grateful for being able to share our passion to consciously create fair sustainable fashion with all of you.  We are also grateful to have so many wonderful customers like yourselves who believe in the mission behind our brand, to spread the messages of mindfulness, meditation, and wellness.
We feel gratitude is a very important intention as it can create a sense of fulfillment in ones life and open the door to abundance and happiness.  I wrote this mantra after attending a special workshop which always helps ground me in gratitude, I would like to share it with you:
I am enough.  I have enough.  There is enough.

SUSTAINABILITY
Since we first launched our brand nearly five years ago, we knew we wanted to make a positive impact on the world—not just through our mindful mala jewelry that provides wellness to its wearers, but also by making the world a better place through sustainable business practices.
Not only do we strive to make more sustainable business choices, we also intend to sustain the lives of the fair trade women artisans we work with in the Philippines. By partnering with them to handcraft each and every Mala and Mantra piece of jewelry, we’re able to provide them a sustainable way of living, fair wages, a safe work environment, and the ability to empower and support themselves and their families. We intend to do everything in our power to grow our business so that we can help more women around the world through jobs like these.

RESILIENCE
If there is any significant takeaway from 2020 it is that of becoming resilient and strong to get through adversity. Resilience is typically defined as the capacity to recover from difficult life events.  With so many unexpected stressful events brought on by the worldwide pandemic in 2020 including the pandemic itself, loss, financial problems, health problems, isolation, and much more it is our ability to adapt in the face of these challenges that creates resilience and helps us to grow and strengthen.

2020 presented us with many challenges in our business which we had not faced before, including having our core wholesale client base (resorts, hotels, and spas) shut down for months and some close their doors indefinitely.  The entire hospitality industry was devastated which greatly affected our business.  We had to reassess, refocus, and pivot like many other companies.  We were fortunate to be able to keep our team in tact throughout all of the shutdowns and learned how to use our collective strengths to get through this hardship and persevere.  We chose to find the silver linings of the effects of COVID-19, like launching our new website.

What silver linings have you taken away from 2020?  What are your intentions for 2021? Share them with us in the comments section or on Instagram @malaandmantra!

Wishing you wellness, peace + prosperity in 2021,
JPC
