Celebrating International Women's Day

Since the moment I came up with the idea for Mala and Mantra more than two years ago, I knew I wanted women to be at the heart of the brand. Whether through creating mindful mala beads with women and their wellness in mind or working with talented female artisans to consciously create these beads, I've made it a goal to celebrate women in both big and small ways each and every day.

On this day in particular, International Women's Day, it's more important than ever to reflect on the power, beauty, and talent of the amazing women I'm constantly surrounded by at Mala and Mantra. From the spa directors I help train on the purpose and power behind our beads to the women who wear them and support us every day, being able to interact with the most intelligent, mindful, grounded, and empowered women is one of the primary things that make running this brand such a pleasure and so rewarding.

And then there are the wonderful women we work with to create each and every Mala and Mantra necklace, bracelet, earring, and more. I was recently able to meet these talented women artisans for the first time at our Fair Trade cooperative in the Philippines (more on that later this month!), and it only reinforced how strongly I feel about empowering women the world over through wellness and our mindful jewelry.

International Women's Day is all about celebrating women's achievements while continuing to fight for gender equality, and this year's theme for International Women's Day is "Make It Happen." I have no doubt that the women I know and work with are doing just that. They're making their lives healthier, they're empowering themselves and others, they're working to create a sustainable way of living for their families and communities. And they're continually encouraging me to do more in my everyday life to help "make it happen" for myself and for the women I find it so essential to empower and partner with in both life and business.

So now I want to know: How are you making it happen today?

Wishing you wellness, strength, mindfulness, and empowerment.

Namaste,
JPC
