M+M’s Monthly Mission: Empowerment
At this point in the New Year, everyone is still busy making their 2015 resolutions, setting their goals, priorities and focuses for the promising year ahead. And Mala and Mantra is no exception. We have a long list of our own goals, dreams + resolutions, one of which is to introduce a series of Monthly Missions: inspirational themes that help us—and all of you—live more soulfully and mindfully in our day-to-day lives. And what better theme to start the year with than empowerment?
Empowerment has always been at the core of Mala and Mantra. After all, our mission is to empower women around the globe through wellness. We do that in many ways, whether it’s helping female artisans at our Fair Trade cooperative in the Philippines learn business skills and earn a sustainable source of income for their families and communities or providing women across the globe with mindful mala bead jewelry that helps them become healthier and happier, both physically and spiritually.
But what is empowerment, exactly, and what does it mean to be empowered? In short, it’s giving power or authority to someone or something. And this month, we want you to empower yourself—to give yourself the power and authority to change for the better, to be a stronger person, to take control of your physical, mental and spiritual health. But empowerment isn’t just about yourself. It’s also about helping others, empowering others to be strong, confident, healthy, soulful, mindful and an all-around happier, more satisfied person within.
This month, we’ll be sharing articles, mantras, inspirational quotes and real-life examples of empowerment on our blog and through our social media channels. And all month long, we also encourage you to share the ways in which you empower yourself, your children, your friends and the people surrounding you each and every day.
Wishing you a month full of the confidence + power to be the best you possible—and to help others do the same.
Namaste,
JPC
